CS 334: Midterm Details

The CS 334 Midterm will be a self-scheduled exam you can take any time between 8am on Thursday, April 6, and 4pm on Saturday, April 8. Here are the basic administrative details:

• You will have 2.5 hours to work on it.
• You will download the exam from Gradescope when you are ready to begin, work on it for no more than 2.5 hours, and then submit it to Gradescope when you are done. You will have a 30 minute grace period for uploading your answers in case you run into snags.
• You may edit the PDF I give you, write your answers in a word processor, write by hand on a printed copy and take photos of the pages, etc.
• It will be closed book, and you may not use any references, websites, compilers, etc. once you download the exam.
• The exam must be turned in by 4pm on Saturday. No late work will be accepted without making special arrangements with me.

And for content...

• The questions will be similar to the HW questions, and they will test basic thoughts, ideas, techniques. Not minutiae.
• It will include topics up to but not including exception handling.
• There will likely be small code questions (ML, but no Lisp). These will also be written by hand.
